Trying to enjoy exercise


One fantastic thing about our Xbox/Netflix obsession in this house is my discovery of the section entitled Sports/Fitness. Instead of investing in dvd's of exercise, this has them right on the tv! Love love love! So, this morning I started by trying out a dance video...not sure dance videos are my thing...at least not at this point. I get confused with the steps and end up bouncing around my living room doing no particular step because I'm so lost! It sounds like a great thing, I do enjoy music and dancing, but my lack of coordination makes it near impossible. I then landed on a Pilates class. WOW I think I have found my new love!!!! In fact, during the video I even had this insane super futuristic thought of....."Maybe I could teach a Pilates class someday!" It was THAT enjoyable. This video had three different ladies doing three different levels, you could follow whoever you wanted. I went between the level one and level two. Now as I type, no joke, every ounce of my body is sore and shaky. It was easy to follow, no getting lost or confused!! The only downside is there is no aerobic benefit, this is all strengthening and toning, but I figure I will use my walks as my heart pumping workout for now. Anyway, I loved it.
On another note, I want to point out a short term goal I have right now. The Ice Breaker!! It is April 22 in Great Falls. My sisters always participate and I did one year too, long time ago-but have chosen not to since I've gained all of this weight. Well, my goal is to do it this year...in fact, my mom may even join me. I plan to walk it, of course, and I am so excited to do this for myself and for my health.
Let's do this!
